This year, 2014-2015, I will be working with all of 7th grade and 8th grade A-L. I truly enjoy working with your children and sincerely hope that I give and have given them a message of hope and self reliance not only for the present, but also for the future which holds so much promise.

My first job as a teacher was in Venezuela at the  Colegio Internacional de Caracas, where I taught Ancient History and English . After that I worked in a TESOL program at the  Instituto Universitario Pedagogico de Maracay or better known as IUPEMAR. The IUPEMAR is a university program for students who wish to become teachers; In my case, teachers of English as a Second Language. After IUPEMAR, I worked for many years at Harlandale Middle School as an ELA/Reading teacher. After that I worked at Gilbert Elementary as a counselor and after that at Leal Middle School in the same capacity.

I have an earned  Batchelor of Arts in English with a minor in History from St Mary's University, and a Masters of Education in Supervision from Our Lady of the Lake University  Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University.

My hobbies include stamp collecting (since the 5th grade), swimming, photography, reading, writing, listening to music classical music and music from the 60's and 70's. Some of the compositions from more recent years are interesting.

I really value literature, not just because I am an educator. I value literature because of the wealth of wisdom it holds. Authors have a keen insight into the complexities of life, often revealed through little snippets of words strung together.  Someone once told me that reading and understanding literature will save the world. However, I personally believe that reading and understanding literature lets one understand life in general. As Shrek would say... "really, really!"
